After the Mad Gear gang that had been plaguing Metro City had been destroyed through the efforts of mayor Mike Haggar, citizens of the city thought that they were finally free from gang violence. But in the power vacuum created by the destruction of Mad Gear the other gangs of the city fought, trying to fill the gap that Mad Gear left. Eventually the Skull Cross gang gained dominance over the others, and a new reign of terror is about to ensue.

One day an explosion rocked the heart of the city, signaling renewed gang violence and bringing with it riots all over the city. Now mayor Mike Haggar, his old friend Guy, city detective Lucia and a mysterious man known as Dean must defeat this new threat to the city.

Final Fight 3 is a 2D side scrolling fighter with four playable characters for you to choose from. The game offers a standard two-player mode as well as an innovative auto two-player mode. The auto two-player mode is an attempt to recreate the two-player experience for a single player; you pick two characters to go through the game with, with you controlling one and the CPU controlling the other.

The game also features Street Fighter 2 style moves like fireballs in addition to the usual punches, kicks, and throws. There are two types of special attacks in the game. The first is an attack that hits all enemies surrounding your character, but costs a small portion of your health when used successfully. The second super attack causes a great deal of damage, but can only be used when your super gauge is full. You can increase your super gauge by attacking enemy characters.

guidebook, the feared group named SKULL CROSS are up to the
same old tricks: arson, terrorism, assault and armed robbery.
Mayor Mike Haggar returns with the potent Guy at his side. With help
from Cody's pal Lucia and the vengence-fueled Dean, the Final Fight
team will ambush the enemy at their next move. Choose to play one of
the 4 characters, each with their own fighting style and SUPER
knock-out techniques. Have a friend join in for a double assault on the
city's scum and crush any punk that gets in your way!
