Iridium Runners PS2

Iridium Runners takes place in the year 2050, four decades after an information destroying computer glitch and the simultaneous discovery of an unlimited power source combined to forge a new path for the world. The resulting information rebuilding created a more tolerant society and signaled the end of petty squabbles and political and religious strife, but this new utopia left the population desiring competition, so the Iridium Games were formed to slake the public thirst. Players step into the Iridium Games as one of 20 different racers, sprinting around courses in spectacular footraces sponsored by mega corporations. There are 30 different courses, each studded with different weapons, power-ups, and boosts, to give runners the upper hand. Players can sprint against the computer opponents in single race, cup, and championship modes, or join friends for multiplayer competitions, co-op races, and deathmatches.

Set in the year 2050, Iridium Runners compete in the ultimate marathon —
one in which winning is not always a question of being the fastest runner.
Special powers and weapons make each race in the Iridium Championship
an adrenaline-pumping batt é for survival in this startlingly fresh take on
the futuristic racing genre.
-> Choose among 20 CHARACTERS and 8 PODS, deciding which
ones are the most suitable to win the race.
-> Run in 24 tracks (6 tracks in 4 versions) and in 6 special tracks.
-> The game offers SINGLE RACE, CUP and CHAMPIONSHIP
modes, both in SINGLE PLAYER (player against 5 CPU opponents) and in MULTIPLAYER
(deathmatch and team modes, up to 4 players in split screen).
-> In SINGLE RACE mode, the player can run in 24 single tracks, playable with different
racing modes (STANDARD, SURVIVAL, COLLECT X-TRAS) and options (DAY/NIGHT, NUMBER
OF LAPS) that add variety to the game.
-> There are 5 CUPS and 1 SPECIAL CUP. Each cup is made up of competitions set in
various environments and with different game modes. The special cup is made up of 6
races with brand new game modes and environments.
-> There are 3 different CHAMPIONSHIPS (made up of 3 to 6 challenging stages) plus a
special championship. The championship mode gives the player the possibility to split the
game experience into many game sessions, given the possibility to save the game when
exiting, thus recording the actual position. The special championship is made up of
various stages staggered by special races.
