SNES - Suzuka 8 Hours Box Art Front

This recreation of one of the classic motorbike races uses Super FX technology for the rotating graphics. Five different variations of the circuit are featured, each one progressively more difficult. 250cc, 400cc and 750cc bikes are featured, each one available to be best for top speed, acceleration or handling. The bikes have two steering methods - leaning into the corner or tilting in with the bike upright -the options allow you to set which of these is controlled on the pad and which use the L and R buttons. Races can be set to last for between 15 minutes and the full 8 hours. Your ultimate aim is to win every type of race, across all bikes and circuit layouts.

Additional Information

Suzuka 8 Hours is based on Namco's 1992 arcade game of the same name. Choose from six different bikes, each rated in acceleration, maximum speed and cornering, and hit the pavement on one of four different game modes: Time Trial, Practice, Race Tour and 2P Race. The heart of the one-player game is the Race Tour, where you'll be able to enter your name, select from four possible race lengths (from 15 minutes to the grueling 8 hours), and try to finish ahead of seven computer drivers.

Five increasingly difficult tracks await you, but you won't have to race them in one sitting: points and standings will be saved via password. While you'll start the game with 250cc bikes, you can earn faster 400cc and 750cc class bikes if you win each tour. Two-player racing is shown on a horizontal split-screen as you compete on your choice of the five tracks. This 8-Meg cartridge with DSP also allows you the opportunity to race in real time: from 3 to 96 minutes!
