Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures SNES

Replete with effectively reproduced scenes from Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures puts players in the title role with trusty whip in hand. In addition to slashing the whip, Indy can punch, shoot, and throw hand grenades at the various Nazis, rats, Arabian swordsmen, deadly monkeys, and other enemies. The standard running, jumping, swinging, side-scrolling action is interrupted at times by such things as a ride on a runaway mine cart, a race down an icy cliff in a rubber raft, and a mad run away from a giant boulder. Simple controls, solid gameplay, and overall faithfulness to the source material put the game several notches above the average movie tie-in. The graphics are a bit choppy, but very nice overall, and the music, though repetitive, is evocative of the film series. The voice effects are nice as well.
