Additional Information

Warhammer: Dark Omen places you in command of a series of battles against the forces of evil. Based upon the tabletop wargame created by Games Workshop Ltd., you'll assume the role of Commander Morgan Bernhardt of the Grudgebringer mercenary army. No, you're not fighting for glory, honor or revenge, but rather for cold, hard cash. Your army consists of four regiments, infantry, cavalry, archers and cannon, which must be deployed on the battlefield before you begin fighting.

After you're satisfied with the placement of your units, a real-time battle will ensue against orcs, goblins, mummies and various other creatures. Once the battle begins, you'll be able to freely roam around an overhead view of the battlefield to issue the following orders: charge, attack, retreat, cast spells or use magic items. Battles are automatically fought once you click on an enemy regiment's flag, so strategy is in the placement of armies and effective use of terrain.

As you make your way through the campaign, you'll be able to hire additional reinforcements, new regiments (a maximum of eight can be deployed in a battle) or purchase armor with the gold earned through victories. Units who engage in battle will also gain experience, which translates into increased skill, strength and ability to carry magic items.

Each mission will end in one of three ways: when you eliminate all enemy regiments, if you lose all of your regiments (through combat or desertion) or if Commander Bernhardt is mortally wounded. Warhammer: Dark Omen supports both the memory card to save campaign progress and PlayStation mouse for improved control.
