Now, the science fiction classic that's captured the hearts and minds of a few generations returns in its most detailed video game incarnation ever: FRANK HERBERT'S DUNE for the PlayStation 2. The story is set in the year 10191, a time when the Houses of Atreides and Harkonnen fight for ultimate control of the sandy planet, Arrakis. The planet has but one resource known as Spice which a long life and great power for anyone who is fortunate enough to possess it. Unfortunately, the substance is in high demand, which has led to this unfortunate war. As Paul, the son of the Duke of Atreides (and rightful heir to the throne), you'll need to join forces with the native Fremen and conquer the armies of the evil Baron Harkonnen once and for all, avenging the massacre of the Atreides. You'll be accompanied by dozens of noble, nomadic Fremen warriors in your attempt to return the land of Arrakis to a state of healthy fertility.

Following a plot of justice and vengeance, players take the role of the gifted Paul Atreides to lead the mystic Fremen tribes of Dune against the House of Harkonnen, which massacred his family and stole his birthright in its greedy quest for power.
