|Adding to the RPG library for the Nintendo 64 is Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage. The game's story is centered on the young Alaron, who was taken in by the king of the land when he was orphaned as a baby. When Alaron is old enough to realize that he is adopted, he sets out on a quest to discover his true lineage. Along the way, he is joined by other adventurers who round out the party with their diverse skills and talents. The game features thirteen different playable characters and players can control up to four of them at once.|
The characters and environments in Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage are rendered in full 3D and the action is viewed from a third-person perspective. Characters have complete freedom of movement and may wander and explore as the player desires.
