Speedball is a 1988 video game based on a violent futuristic cyberpunk sport that draws on elements of handball and ice hockey, and rewards violent play as well as goals.

Speedball was released in November 1988 for the Amiga and Atari ST and later ported to the PC (DOS), Commodore 64 and the Sega Master System. SOFEL released a port for the NES in 1991, as KlashBall. It was re-released in 2004 as one of the 30 games on the C64 Direct-to-TV.

The sport of the future isn't about winning or losing; it's about living or dying. You've been assigned the role of player or manager on the worst team in the sport Brutal Deluxe. With 16 teams in the World Speedball League, that makes 15 that you'll have to pass on the way to a championship. Muscle the ball past defenders, using an array of armor and equipment to protect yourself from the nonstop aggression coming from your rivals. Control player trades and roster moves from the front office, then move into the gym to train your team and build a dynasty. Of course, the greatest challenge will come on the playing field.
