Game Information

based on the animated television series. The game begins with the player taking control of Beetlejuice as he attempts to get rid of all the ghosts that he invited into Lydia Deetz's house (where she lives with her mother and father) He must then rescue Lydia from the evil Astoroth. Using bio-exorcist magic, players must defeat undead creatures through the cemetery and even inside the Neitherworld. Players can also ride on a mine cart and a Pogosnake (that operates in a similar fashion to Super Mario World's Yoshi). There are some elements of animated violence along with a dark Gothic theme (that explores into the realms of hauntings) in this video game.

Additional Information

Based on the 1988 feature film starring Michael Keaton, Alec Baldwin, and Geena Davis and on the animated television series, Beetlejuice for the Game Boy puts you in the title role. Armed with bio-exorcist magic, your job is to rescue your pal Lydia Deetz from the clutches of Astoroth, a four-armed creature from hell.

During your mission, which takes place in Lydia's House of Horror, the graveyard, beyond the graveyard, and in the Neitherworld, you must work your magic on (i.e. shoot your weapon at) a host of spooks, ghosts, and monsters. Along with the standard 2D platform action of running, jumping, shooting, and climbing, you will also ride a mine cart and a Yoshilike Pogosnake. Each of the six levels of play features a bonus round, most of which are puzzle games.
