These profiles give a quick rundown of the players' careers, accomplishments and abilities. All 28 NFL franchises are represented in the game, complete with official logos and team names. Each team is rated in seven categories: passing, running, blocking, tackling, blitzing, coverage and special teams.

NFL Quarterback is three games in one: NFL Play, Simulation and QB Challenge. NFL Play offers an assortment of game modes in which you can play preseason, season or playoff football. Features include audibles, quarterback substitutions, battery backup, drive summaries, taunts, sacks, high-steps, spikes, a special no-huddle offense, game statistics, smooth cam relays, an assortment of penalties and more than 430 plays. You can choose from six weather conditions and five quarter lengths, and you can play on grass or artificial turf. You can even take part in the Pro Bowl, which lets you set up an AFC vs. NFC showdown.

The NFL Quarterback Challenge is a practice/competition mode that lets you test your skills in four categories: Accuracy, Speed & Mobility, Distance, and Read & Recognition. By participating in the various events again and again, you can build up a custom quarterback for use in preseason play.

In the Simulation mode you can relive and participate in key moments of pro football's storied past, such as the very first Super Bowl in which Kansas City was down 18 to Green Bay in the fourth quarter. As you play these special situations, you may utilize all the plays and functions of current (circa 1994) NFL football.
