Game Information

SNES - NBA Give 'n Go Box Art Front

NBA Give 'n Go is a port of the arcade version basketball game. The game is different from usual basketball games of the era because it is played in a vertical view. Most basketball games previously had a side scrolling or isometric view. Building upon this technique, the game features large player sprites and graphics. The game features the NBA roster from 1995 complete with player ratings. Gameplay consists of true 5 on 5 basketball but in a more arcade like style with alley-oops and high flying dunks. The audio includes action oriented commentary, in the style of NBA Jam.

Additional Information

The league's 27 pro teams play for the championship in Konami's NBA Give 'N Go. Unlike most earlier basketball video games, NBA Give 'N Go features a "behind-the-ring" perspective, from the end of the court instead of from the side. The control scheme and AI allow for a range of moves and plays, including blocks, steals, dishes, dunks, and alley-oops. Game modes include "Arcade" (play-off games with fast-paced settings), "Play-offs" (featuring random or custom teams, or the teams from the 1995 season), "Exhibition" (for quick one-off matches), and "Season" (in which players can choose seasons 6 to 82 games long, and from 5- or 7-game finals series). Other options allow gamers to trade players or create their own customs teams. Default "Arcade" and "Simulation" styles of play are available, or gamers can customize individual settings and options including period length, time violations, offensive and defensive fouls, and computer difficulty levels.
