Additional Information

Based on the popular Japanese wrestling game known as Toukon Retsuden, Activision's Power Move Pro Wrestling is an extreme 3D grappler with 12 distinctive characters. While the mysterious Agent Orange obliterates his opponents with powerful pile drivers and chops, the Egyptian Conniption is an intimidating ex-police officer from the Middle East, crippling his opposition with power bombs and flying kicks. There are over 50 authentic wrestling moves between each character.

Basic wrestling rules apply: wrestlers will be disqualified for breaking submission rules, using illegal holds for more than five seconds and counted out after twenty seconds. In order to win a match, you'll either have to pin your opponent or have him disqualified. Getting the legitimate win involves a three-count pin; to do so, you must drain your foe's hit points down to zero.

After selecting the Go! option from the main menu, you're presented with a series of gameplay options including one- and two-player matches, 12-Man Gauntlet, Championship, PPW League, PPW Tournament and the Demo Match modes. As an exhibition match, the One or Two Player matches are recommended for new players; these matches will get you used to the control layout and character handling. The 12-Man Gauntlet features twelve consecutive matches with no rest. Your objective is to eliminate all opposition without being disqualified or pinned.

PPW League throws you into a heated points-based season with a variety of computer-controlled opponents. Points are distributed as follows: two points for a win, one point for a draw and no points are awarded for a loss. The PPW Tournament is a heated bracket competition; whoever is left standing at the end of the tournament wins. Both modes are for one or two players. The Demo Match allows you to pick two computer wrestlers and watch them fight it out. Finally, the results screen features records and results for the PPW Champions (a history of), Tournament and 12-Man Gauntlet.

Power Move Pro Wrestling also features four distinctive venues with four different ring designs, a first floor and balcony camera angles and a variety of match length, draw and submission options. One to eight blocks of memory card data is needed to save PPW Tournament or League progression along with any hidden goodies you may have found.
