Eureka Seven, Vol. 2: The New Vision is based on the Japanese anime of the same name and begins after the events of Vol. 1. Players assume the role of Sumner Sturgeon, an ex-military pilot who spends his time competing in surfing style events called lifting. Sturgeon grows tired of the lifting lifestyle and re-enlists to find action elsewhere. He is rapidly assigned to a mission of high importance. Sturgeon must find and destroy the Compact Feedback System before it can be finished, and to complete his quest, Sturgeon must take the controls of 17 different Light Finding Operations (LFO) and make his way through the single-player "Story" mode. He is regularly attacked and must defeat the enemy using a combination of melee and firing weapons. As Sturgeon progresses he can upgrade his current LFO's armor, weaponry, and reload ratings to increase his overall power.
