Game Information

Set in KOEI's popular Romance of the Three Kingdoms world, Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends has players taking the role of one of seven generals seeking to reunite the land under one banner. Unlike the earlier game, where players were restricted to the Free mode when playing as the likes of Lu Bu, this latest iteration offers each of the seven previously unaligned characters a new scenario (or "Musou"). These scenarios take place across stages from the original Dynasty Warriors that have been remixed, providing players with new objectives, scenery, and cut-scenes. As an added bonus, players can import everything they've unlocked from Dynasty Warriors 3 into this game for an enhanced experience. Players are also given free reign in regards to bodyguard customization. Bodyguards can be named, assigned weapons and items, and their genders and uniforms modified to taste. Other additions include a collection of new weapons and items, a fifth weapon for each officer, new difficulty levels, and an "Arrange" mode in which players can tinker with the placement of characters in the game's opening movie. Four Challenge modes have also been introduced: Balancing Act, Speed Demon, Combo Mania, and Iron Man. The first has players battling atop a bridge, with the objective being to knock as many enemy waves off the bridge before you yourself fall. Speed Demon is a footrace across an entire level, requiring both players to navigate hazards and fight off enemies en route to the finish line. Combo Mania is a gratuitous display of force as players beat up hapless hordes in search of combo points. Lastly, Iron Man is simply all three events in succession.
