Additional Information

Star Wars for Game Boy mixes side-scrolling action, first-person space combat, and top-down travel sequences in a game that mirrors the storyline of 1977's blockbuster film. You begin as Luke Skywalker in his home world of Tatooine, where you'll zip across desert terrain in a landspeeder, explore the interior of a Sandcrawler, and confront hostile banthas, Jawas, and Tusken Raiders. The goal is to unite young Skywalker with R2-D2, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and C-3PO so the group can safely advance to Mos Eisley.

Luke can jump across platforms, climb ladders, fire a blaster, and wield a lightsaber. As you progress through the game's six main stages, you'll be able to switch between two additional characters: cynical Han Solo and feisty Princess Leia. Each character offers distinct strengths, and you can also count on limited support from Obi-Wan, R2-D2, and C-3PO to assist in specific tasks. While the side-scrolling stages make up the majority of the action, Star Wars also lets you pilot the Millennium Falcon and an X-wing starfighter to engage TIE fighters and mount a final assault on the Death Star.

  • Play as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, or Leia Organa

  • Blast TIE fighters and avoid asteroids in first-person space sequences

  • Drive Luke's landspeeder across Tatooine while avoiding laser cannons, probe droids, and more

    Controls: Gamepad/Joystick
